Vanma Lock for More Industries

Vanma Lock systems enhance security and streamline operations in the water utility industry and are also applicable across various sectors including telecommunications, power, banking, and logistics.

Challenge

Server-room doors still relied on mechanical keys that could be copied, lost or mis-labeled, making it impossible to know who opened which rack and when. During the plant’s 2023 digital-upgrade, any unauthorized access to PLCs or SCADA servers risked process disruption or data tampering.

Solution

Vanma supplied MS840 passive electronic cabinet locks and Bluetooth keys.

  • No batteries inside the locks—power comes from the key, ensuring zero maintenance in a humid plant environment.
  • Role-based permissions: an operator requests access in the central console; the supervisor approves; the key downloads the task list instantly.
  • Audit Trail: every open/close event is time-stamped and uploaded when the key is docked.

Outcome

The upgrade has sealed the last physical loophole in Wuzhipa’s digital control system and slashed permission-admin time.

Details

Water plants are critical infrastructure; an unlocked PLC cabinet can shut down pumps or alter chemical dosing. Wuzhipa’s 2023 upgrade sought granular, revocable and auditable access to every server rack. Mechanical locks failed on all three counts, so Vanma’s passive electronic system was adopted.

1. Key Overload & Mis-Matches

  • Problem: Technicians carried ring-of-20 keys; wrong key bent lock pins twice a year.
  • Vanma Solution: A single Bluetooth key carries daily task lists for all MS840 locks; zero mechanical failures since deployment.

2. Unauthorized Entry

  • Problem: Spare mechanical keys could be duplicated off-site.
  • Vanma Solution: Rights are software-defined and auto-expire daily; keys become useless once time-window ends.

3. Paper Trail Gaps

  • Problem: Sign-in sheets were illegible 30 % of the time, delaying audits.
  • Vanma Solution: AES-128 encrypted logs upload automatically—immutable, legally admissible records.

By swapping mechanical locks for Vanma’s zero-maintenance, zero-downtime electronic system, Wuzhipa Water Plant has locked the digital backbone of Shenzhen’s western water supply.

“Vanma gave us one key for every rack and a full audit trail. Daily checks that used to take 30 minutes are now done in 10. The offline buffer is perfect for our low-connectivity server room.”

Prison & Correctional Facility Access Control

As correctional facilities modernize, the pressure to prevent escapes, contraband and internal misconduct keeps mounting. Traditional metal keys—copied, lost or passed hand-to-hand—can’t deliver the instant control or courtroom-grade proof that today’s prisons demand.
